Covid-19?

Covid-19 is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. 'CO' stands for corona, 'VI' for virus
and 'D' for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as '2019 novel coronavirus'. It can affect our upper respiratory tract (sinuses,nose,and throat) or lower respiratory tract (windpipe and
lungs). It was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan City,China. Officials confirm a case
of Covid-19 in Thailand, the first recorded case
outside of China. People with Covid-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported - ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may
appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Common signs and symptoms can include fever, dry cough and tiredness. Early symptoms of Covid-19 may include a loss of taste or smell.Other Symptoms can include shortness of breath, muscle aches, sore throat, runny nose,headache etc.
The virus causing the disease spreads mainly through the air when people are near each other.It leaves an infected person as they breathe, cough, sneeze, or speak and enters another person via
thelr mouth,nose,or eyes.It might also spread via contamlated surfaces. People remain infectiousfor upto two weeks, and can spread the virus even if they do not have symptoms.The Covid.
19 virus infects people of all ages. However,evidence to date suggests that two groups of people are
at a higher risk of getting severe Covid-19 disease.These are older people; and those with
underlying medical conditions.We can prevent Covid-19 by social distancing,wearing a face
mask in public, ventilation and air-filtering, hand washing,covering one's mouth when sneezing or
coughing. disinfecting surfaces, and monitoring and self-isolation for people exposed or
